Yes, you can transfer your Site Audit Pro database to storage on your device and access that with a computer. You will need both devices, and a computer in order to complete this process.
*** Please note that there is a risk of data loss during the transferring of databases. Veam Studios cannot take responsibility for any data loss that occurs during a database transfer but we do understand that users will often require this transfer for ease or continuation of their work and provide these instructions to aid them with this in mind.
Please also be aware that, in some cases, photos may not be transferred properly during the process of backing up SAP's files, which leaves an empty white space where the photo should be. The photo files will be within your backed up files, but it may be necessary to manually add these photo files to your device and then back into the projects. This isn't a certainty, but it is a risk you should be aware of. ***
To transfer your database:
On your first/old device:
- Open Site Audit Pro.
- Open the overflow menu and tap "Settings".
- Tap "General".
- Tap "Import/Export Database".
- Tap "Export Database". This will move a copy of your database to "Documents" folder within your device's internal storage (this may vary, but the location is usually Internal Storage > Documents > SiteAuditProDatabase).
- Next, plug this device into a computer and access the device's Documents folder mentioned above using an Android File Browser.
- Find the "SiteAuditProDatabase" folder and save that folder and its contents to an easy to access location on your computer.
Moving on to adding these files to your second/new device, plug this device into your computer:
- On your computer, use your Android File Browser to access your device's "Documents" folder.
- Copy the "SiteAuditProDatabase" folder that you saved previously from your computer into the device's Documents folder. Do not add any additional files or folders to this. Once this is done, unplug the device.
- Continuing with your new device, open Site Audit Pro.
- Open the overflow menu and tap "Settings".
- Tap "General".
- Tap "Import/Export Database".
- Tap "Import Database".
Your database should now be accessible on your new device. Please check through all projects on this device to ensure that they have transferred correctly (include a test of generating the report for each project during this time too) before deleting the app from or wiping your old device.
